FAQ
When is Jummah (Friday prayer) at the Haram?
Jummah and its khutbah are held at Dhuhr time. The mosque fills up long before, so arrive at least an hour early.
Why are Makkah and Madinah times different?
Madinah lies north and slightly west of Makkah, so sunrise and sunset differ by several minutes, and the gap changes through the year.
Which calculation method is used?
The Umm al-Qura method used in Saudi Arabia: Fajr at 18.5° below the horizon, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib (120 minutes in Ramadan). A time may differ by a minute due to rounding.
